About Me

Hi, I’m Liz, a freelance graphic designer working in North Bristol. Welcome to my online portfolio.

Growing up in Somerset, I studied graphic and surface pattern, and began my career as a pre-press designer in the newspaper industry. I later worked in-house at the Audit Commission, Sir Robert McAlpine, and Kleeneze, where I led teams of designers and copywriters and managed projects from initial brief through translators, lawyers, printers, and mailing houses throughout the world.

Since becoming a full-time freelance designer in 2015, I’ve collaborated with a wide variety of public and private sector businesses and charities, offering design support on an in-house, hybrid or remote basis. I specialise in helping startup businesses develop their brands, and I particularly welcome projects that are in support of not-for-profit organisations.

I take great pride in a reputation for exceeding client expectations, bringing their visions to life, and creating something that everyone is proud of.

Away from my computer, I spend as much time as possible chilling with my cats or just getting out and about in nature; walking, gardening; wildlife and botanical drawing; and volunteering on local environmental projects like the Festival of Nature and Hedgehog Rescue. Naturally, this sometimes ends up being computer-based help - why not use the skills if I have them? - but I like hands-on involvement too, such as river water quality monitoring and wildlife surveys.
