Hi, I'm Liz, a freelance graphic designer based in North Bristol. Welcome to my online portfolio.
Originally from Somerset, I studied graphic and surface pattern design before starting my career as a pre-press designer in the newspaper industry. My experience grew through in-house roles at the Audit Commission, Sir Robert McAlpine and Kleeneze. In these positions, I led a team of designers and copywriters, managing complex projects from initial brief through to delivery across the globe.
Since going freelance in 2015, I've collaborated with a wide variety of public and private sector businesses and charities, offering design support on an in-house, hybrid or remote basis. While I specialise in helping startups develop their brands, I particularly welcome projects that support not-for-profit organisations.
When not at my computer being creative, I spend as much time as possible getting out into nature. I love walking, gardening and botanical embroidery and drawing, along with volunteering for local environmental projects.
Naturally, my professional skills often come in handy for these causes, but I also like hands-on involvement, such as river water quality monitoring with Bristol Avon Rivers Trust and helping with the Festival of Nature or Hedgehog Rescue.
